Welcome To The home of the idaho State University college republicans.

The primary purpose of the College Republicans at Idaho State is to involve university students in the most pressing issues facing our generation. It is the privilege and responsibility of College Republicans to energize and involve our generation - to present reasons to vote and to care about the political process.

The College Republicans on campus carry an optimistic and unique message. We are advocates for a free society. The Republican Party, much like America herself, was founded on the bold principles of human freedom. The GOP is one of the only political parties in world history established because of the strong convictions of concerned citizens dedicated to principles and ideas rather than political expediency. It was formed to oppose the oppression and moral evil of slavery.

Today, the College Republicans stand united and determined to revitalize our party and nation, to fight against all forms of tyranny. While most political student organizations on campus support the increase of government scope and authority, we fight to extend rather than to restrict freedom. Our confidence is in the virtue of the individual and the wisdom of the people, not government's newest regulation. Instead of insisting on turning every problem over to powerful government bureaucracies, we support empowering citizens to think, act and solve problems on their own.

When government grows, our freedom to live our lives as we see fit shrinks. As power is centralized, corruption increases. We reject any notion that the proper role of government extends beyond protecting us from intrusions on our right to life, liberty and property. We support the free market, understanding that economic freedom is essential to personal liberty and constitutional government, and at the same time it is the most productive supplier of human needs.

Quote:

Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent.

-Martin Luther King, Jr.
